They are seeking a Summer Intern for their Autonomous Vehicle, Sensor Hardware and Technology Development team to assist in developing engineering designs and collaborating with various teams to ensure performance specifications are met. Responsibilities Develops engineering designs (including subsystems) and implements engineering changes Develops requirements & subsystem technical specifications as required Execute sensor-level tests on prototype vehicles Collaborate with hardware, software, and integration teams to ensure performance meets specifications Perform bench and lab testing, debug hardware issues, and document results in collaboration Support integration, calibration, and environmental operating domain evaluation for cameras, radars and lidars Skills Pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in one of the following areas: Computer Science or Engineering (Electrical, Computer, Mechatronics, System Design, Mechanical, Chemical or equivalent) Must be graduating between December 2026 and August 2027 Coursework or project experience in Python or Matlab or embedded microcontrollers Able to work fulltime, 40 hours per week Basic understanding of automotive control systems, ADAS features, sensors, or electronics Familiarity with model-based design tools (MATLAB/Simulink) and communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet) Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python Intent to return to degree-program after the completion of the internship Benefits Paid US GM Holidays GM Family First Vehicle Discount Program Result-based potential for growth within GM Intern events to network with company leaders and peers Company Overview General Motors is an automotive company that designs, produces, markets, and distributes vehicles and vehicle parts.
