The 2026 Summer Nurse Internship Program offers nursing students the chance to apply theory to practice while developing essential skills over a 10-week period from May 18, 2026, to July 31, 2026. Responsibilities Apply nursing theory to clinical practice Develop time management skills Develop problem solving techniques Gain confidence at the bedside through observing and performing technical skills Skills Must be currently enrolled in an accredited school of nursing, pursuing your Associate's or Bachelor's degree, with completion of sophomore or junior year by May 2026 Must be able to attend Internship Orientation (you will be assigned to one day upon Facility/Unit Assignment: May 14th or May 15, 2026) Must be able to complete internship with minimal absenteeism Must have flexibility to work rotating shifts (you will follow your preceptor's schedule - including evenings, nights, weekends and/or holidays) Must have a customer service attitude Must be a team player Must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher Company Overview Penn Highlands Healthcare specializes in behavioral health, cancer, pulmonary, emergency, walk-in care, maternity & rehabilitation services.
