Business Intelligence Developer 1 (Remote)

Position Description The Business Intelligence (BI) Developer I plays a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining dashboards, reports, and visualizations that support strategic, clinical, financial, and operational decision-making. This role will focus heavily on developing solutions in Power BI, including data modeling, DAX calculations, and interactive dashboards. The BI Developer I works closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, transform data into meaningful insights, and deliver user-friendly analytics tools. Skills Required Proficiency with Power BI, including creating dashboards, reports, data models, and DAX calculations. Strong analytical and visualization skills to translate complex data into clear insights. Ability to gather and interpret requirements from stakeholders and build effective BI solutions. Familiarity with relational databases and the ability to write simple SQL queries for data extraction. Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and data integrity. Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills. Clear communication skills for explaining technical concepts to non-technical users. Skills Preferred Experience with Power Query (M) for data transformation. Knowledge of Power BI service features such as workspaces, apps, and row-level security. Familiarity with advanced DAX for calculations, time intelligence, and performance optimization. Exposure to SQL Server (SSMS, SSRS, or SSIS). Understanding of data governance, compliance, and data security best practices. Experience with creating KPIs, performance metrics, and financial/operational dashboards. Experience Required One (1) year of experience creating reports, dashboards, or analytics solutions in Power BI. Demonstrated experience in data visualization and analysis. Exposure to SQL for data extraction and analysis. Experience Preferred Two (2) or more years of experience with Power BI development, including DAX and Power Query. Experience designing interactive dashboards for financial, HR, or healthcare operations. Hands-on experience working with SQL Server or other enterprise data sources. Prior work in government, healthcare, or compliance-driven environments. Education Required Bachelors degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or related field; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. Education Preferred Bachelors degree with coursework in data visualization, statistics, or database systems. Microsoft certifications in Power BI (e.g., PL-300: Power BI Data Analyst Associate) or related BI tools. Additional Information There is the possibility of remote or hybrid work for this role. Local would be preferred, but we are willing to consider candidates out of state and make this a full-time remote position if they are the best fit.
