Chief Technology Officer (CTO) American Ai (Remote- Equity- High Upside Pay)

Remote, USA Full-time
About the Role American AI & Automation (AAIA) is seeking a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to architect, build, and scale the technical backbone of the company. This role is designed for a proven technology leader with deep experience in Machine Learning (ML) and Large Language Models (LLMs) who has successfully taken startups from early-stage builds to scalable platforms. The CTO will be responsible for hands-on development in the early stages, creating processes and SOPs that enable repeatable AI service delivery once sales are secured. You will guide the transformation of customer requirements into executable technical solutions, define realistic project timelines, and evolve from “builder” to executive leader as the team scales. The CTO will also sit at the C-Suite table to shape company strategy, ensuring technology decisions align with business goals and market opportunities. This role requires someone equally comfortable writing code, architecting solutions, meeting with clients to scope technical possibilities, and leading a full-stack technical team as we grow. Key Responsibilities AI Services & Product Development • Lead the design and execution of AAIA’s AI service portfolio (ML, LLM, LMS, and SIS integrations). • Translate client needs into technical architectures, prototypes, and deliverables. • Build scalable systems for repeatable AI service delivery. Hands-On Execution & SOPs • Directly build and deploy early projects with speed and precision. • Create clear SOPs, documentation, and frameworks for future engineers. • Define accurate project scopes and timelines for sales commitments. Technical Leadership & Strategy • Serve as AAIA’s technology voice at the executive table. • Partner closely with the CSO to ensure sales commitments align with technical feasibility. • Provide technical due diligence and input during business development conversations. • Shape long-term tech roadmap including infrastructure, integrations, and scalability. Team Building & Scaling • Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing engineering team as the company grows. • Establish processes for agile development, QA, security, and deployment. • Transition from player-coach to executive leader of a full-stack team. Client & Investor Engagement • Engage with enterprise and education clients to explain and scope technical solutions. • Communicate complex technology clearly to non-technical stakeholders. • Support CEO and CSO in investor conversations by presenting AAIA’s tech vision and scalability. You’re a Fit If You: • Have proven experience delivering ML/LLM-driven solutions that scale. • Have startup experience, building from scratch with lean resources. • Can operate as both hands-on builder and strategic executive. • Understand education technology ecosystems (LMS/SIS) and enterprise integrations. • Thrive in ambiguity and move fast without sacrificing quality. • Have successfully led technical teams from early-stage to scale-up. • Are able to engage confidently with clients, peers, and investors on technical strategy. Compensation & Equity • Pay range: $100.00 – $200.00 per hour, based on performance and outcomes. • Equity-based earnings tied to company revenue: up to 25–40% depending on structure. • Option to evolve into base salary + equity + performance incentives as company scales. • No cap on income — compensation scales directly with success. What You Get • Real equity and ownership in AAIA’s growth trajectory. • The opportunity to build the technical foundation of a disruptive AI company. • Direct collaboration with the CEO, CSO, and executive leadership team. • The chance to shape the future of AI in education and enterprise. • Full remote flexibility with expected travel for client meetings, conferences, and strategic opportunities. This role is for builders and leaders, not passengers. If you want to own the technology function of a high-growth AI company and prove you can take it from startup to market dominance, this is your opportunity.
