Job Description We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Entry-Level Content Proofreader & Editor to join our global remote team. This is a 100% remote position, allowing you to work from anywhere in Heidelberg, Germany, or beyond. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality, accuracy, and linguistic integrity of various content types, from marketing materials and website copy to technical documentation and software interfaces. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about language and eager to contribute to high-quality content delivery for major international brands. Key Responsibilities • Review and proofread content for grammatical errors, spelling mistakes, punctuation issues, and stylistic inconsistencies. • Edit content to improve clarity, conciseness, and overall readability, ensuring adherence to client-specific style guides and linguistic standards. • Verify factual accuracy and consistency within the text, cross-referencing information where necessary. • Provide constructive feedback on content quality and suggest improvements to writers and project managers. • Manage multiple proofreading and editing tasks simultaneously, meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment. • Collaborate with project managers, linguists, and other team members to ensure a seamless workflow and high-quality deliverables. • Utilize various proofreading and editing tools and software, adapting to new technologies as required. Required Skills • Exceptional command of the English language (native or near-native proficiency). • Strong understanding of grammar, punctuation, and syntax. • Meticulous attention to detail and a keen eye for errors. • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). • Ability to work independently in a remote setting while maintaining high productivity. • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Preferred Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in English, Linguistics, Communications, Journalism, or a related field. • Familiarity with various style guides (e.g., APA, MLA, Chicago). • Experience with content management systems (CMS) or translation memory (TM) tools. • Basic understanding of SEO principles and web content best practices. • Previous experience in a remote work environment.
