Cybersecurity Associate Internship

Join GDIT’s Summer 2026 Cybersecurity Associate Internship to support and secure complex government and defense projects in a collaborative, innovative environment. Your Role Key responsibilities include: • Work side-by-side with GDIT professionals delivering work for clients. • Collaborate with a team of peers to research and propose solutions to current business challenges. • Participate in a mentoring circle led by an early career champion. • Interact with GDIT leaders and participate in professional development activities. • Ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data and systems across GDIT or client organizations. • Work with analysts to understand business processes and promote data integrity. • Develop consulting skills, gather and research data, develop analysis, and contribute to deliverables. About You The company is looking for candidates who meet the following qualifications: • Currently enrolled in an associate's, bachelor's, or master's degree program in computer science, IT, engineering, or other STEM field at a U.S.-based college or university. • Basic understanding of Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Excel, Teams). • Demonstrated decision-making skills and experience working in a collaborative team environment. • Nimble mindset with intellectual curiosity and ability to solve complex problems related to rapidly changing technology. • Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions. • Knowledge or interest in cybersecurity principles, methods, and tools for evaluating information systems security. • Basic knowledge of engineering, information systems, hardware, software, and data manipulation of Indicators of Compromise (IOC’s). • Basic understanding of Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), Vulnerability Management (scanning and patching), and Information Assurance. • Preferred: Pursuing cybersecurity certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, Information Assurance, or Certified Ethical Hacker. • No clearance required; U.S. citizenship not required; sponsorship not available. Compensation & Benefits • Paid full-time (40 hours/week) for 10 consecutive weeks. • Hourly rate likely between $22.95 and $31.05, based on experience and location. • Hybrid work option available. • Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision plans, 401(k) with company match, paid time off (vacation, sick, personal, holidays, parental, military, bereavement, jury duty), and various insurance options (disability, life, accidental death, critical illness, travel accident). • Full flex work weeks where possible to encourage work/life balance.
