This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys solving complex technical challenges, and takes ownership of delivering secure, reliable systems on AWS using Terraform. You’ll be the key person managing and evolving our AWS hosting environment for a PHP-based application, collaborating closely with developers, QA, and technology leadership. You’ll own and refine release processes, automate relentlessly, and drive best practices in cloud architecture, DevSecOps, and infrastructure as code. If you’re looking for a role where you can take full ownership, make decisions, and build things the right way, this is the opportunity to do just that. Key Responsibilities Design, maintain, and enhance secure AWS infrastructure using Terraform (including EC2, RDS, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, and related services). Develop and maintain internal tooling and automation scripts. Lead and optimise CI/CD pipelines, including deployment automation, rollback strategies, and release management. Define and meet reliability and availability targets, implementing proactive monitoring and alerting. Champion cloud security by enforcing best practices, conducting threat modelling, and performing regular vulnerability assessments. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support continuous improvement and high-quality software delivery. Write and maintain scripts and tools in Python, Rust, and other languages as needed. Support high-availability systems, disaster recovery testing, and infrastructure incident response. Identify opportunities for automation, improved documentation, and team enablement. What You’ll Bring 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Infrastructure, or Site Reliability Engineering roles. Strong hands-on experience with AWS services (IAM, EC2, S3, Lambda, VPC, etc.). Proficiency in Terraform and infrastructure-as-code best practices. Solid understanding of cloud security, identity and access management, encryption, and network security. Experience with Python and/or Rust, and a willingness to learn new technologies. Familiarity with containerisation (Docker) and orchestration tools. Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch). A proactive, problem-solving mindset and a focus on automation, reliability, and continuous improvement. Why You’ll Love Working Here You’ll have real ownership and the freedom to shape how cloud infrastructure is built and managed. You’ll work in an environment that values learning, autonomy, and innovation. You’ll be encouraged to explore new technologies and improve how things are done. You’ll directly influence the reliability, scalability, and security of systems that power our business. You’ll have access to mentorship, training, and growth opportunities that support your career development.
