Director of Residential Property Management

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsibilities of Director Residential Property Management includes but not limited to: • Responsible for BRC managed rental properties, including rental collections, addressing maintenance and repairs, and lease renewals. • Supervise assigned staff of Residence Managers who provide on site property support. • Ensure collection of tenant rents and ensure timely documentation of such in Yardi. • Provide regular financial and performance reports to the VP of Housing or as requested. • Collaborate with Program Directors and facilities team to ensure timely occupancy of vacant units. • Maintain positive relations with tenants to ensure rental payment compliance. • Develop methods of outreach to tenants to ensure they are aware of rental escalations, rent due dates and rent payment options. • Stay current on local and federal laws and regulations affecting rental properties and make recommendations for change as necessary. • Work with management and funders to ensure rental rates are accurate and reflective on corresponding leasing, including escalations as appropriate. • Will take the lead on completing Annual Owners Certifications report, HHAC report in a timely manner. • Ensure that all rental properties complete and submit DHCR forms in a timely manner. • Purchases all maintenance supplies and ensures adequate inventory is kept. • Related duties as assigned. HOURS: Full time, 37.5 hours per week • Monday-Friday 9am-5:30pm • Fully in person • Requires travel to various programs in field (Brooklyn, Bronx, Manhattan, Queens) QUALIFICATIONS: • Bachelor's degree in Property Management, Real Estate, Business Administration, or related field. • High school diploma/GED will be considered with 3 years of property management experience. • Prior experience working with property management software, Yardi is a plus. • Strong Organizational and multitasking abilities. • Knowledge of local, state, and federal housing laws. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus. • Vaccination preferred but not required.
