About the position The Ethics and Compliance Officer at Pennsylvania's Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA) plays a crucial role in ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and agency policies. This position involves managing compliance and privacy issues, conducting investigations, and developing training and policy recommendations to support the agency's mission of serving veterans and their families. The role requires strong project management skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities • Ensure compliance with rules and regulations of regulatory agencies and agency policies. • Act as a communication channel for compliance and privacy issues. • Manage the HIPAA/privacy and healthcare regulations portion of the DMVA compliance program. • Conduct HIPAA/privacy, compliance, and ethics investigations. • Develop and implement appropriate resolutions based on investigations. • Write policy recommendations and create training programs. • Audit program office activities for compliance. Requirements • One year as an Administrative Officer 2 or four years of progressively responsible office management experience. • Experience in personnel management, budgeting, or procurement. • Graduation from a four-year college or university or equivalent experience and training. • Management Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (preferred). • Experience with healthcare compliance and regulations. Nice-to-haves • Certifications in Healthcare Compliance (CHC), Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP), and Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHPC). • Experience in healthcare management or compliance work. • Experience conducting investigations and data collection. • Experience with direct healthcare compliance.
