Key Responsibilities As a Medical Biller at Workwarp, you will be responsible for managing the billing process, ensuring accurate coding and compliance with healthcare regulations, and collaborating with healthcare providers, patients, and insurance carriers to resolve billing discrepancies. Your key responsibilities will include: Managing the billing process by ensuring precise coding and compliance with healthcare regulations. Utilizing ICD-10, ICD-9, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems to accurately code medical diagnoses and procedures. Reviewing medical records to verify the accuracy and completeness of information necessary for billing claims. Submitting insurance claims correctly and timely to prevent delays in payment. Conducting follow-ups on unpaid claims, ensuring they are processed efficiently or escalated as necessary. Collaborating with healthcare providers, patients, and insurance companies to address billing inquiries. Maintaining organized and detailed records of all billing transactions and communications. Staying updated on changes to coding practices, insurance policies, and regulations pertinent to medical billing. Required Skills and Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and qualifications: Essential Skills Certification as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS). In-depth knowledge of medical coding guidelines and regulations (ICD-10, ICD-9, CPT, HCPCS). Proficient experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
