As a Senior Developer, you will be part of the Data Technology Group within the Data Technology Division, leveraging cutting-edge technology to solve business problems and drive innovation. About the Role This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic team, developing and maintaining complex applications and services that support the airline's operations. As a Senior Developer, you will be responsible for utilizing state-of-the-art technology to drive business solutions, participating in all phases of the development cycle, and upholding agile processes and test-driven development. Key Responsibilities Own Azure and Kubernetes environments for Client Warning Applications Collaborate with leaders, business analysts, project managers, IT architects, technical leads, and other developers to understand requirements and develop solutions Maintain and enhance existing enterprise services, applications, and platforms using domain-driven design and test-driven development Troubleshoot complex issues and implement solutions Create detailed project details, requirements, and estimates Research and implement new technologies to improve current processes, security, and performance Uphold coding standards and comply with best practices and security guidelines Work closely with software developers and technical prompts to ensure decisions meet long-term project growth needs Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training Proficiency in Full Stack Development, with experience in technologies such as Java, JSP, JMS, JAXB, JDBC, EJB, PostgreSQL, Hibernate, Oracle, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Angular JS, Ext JS, CSS, jQuery, AJAX, HTML, and Thymeleaf Experience with cloud-based development, specifically Azure Knowledge of object-oriented design methods and principles Proficiency in Microsoft Office Tools, such as Project, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint Experience with Agile methodologies, such as SCRUM Experience with DevOps Toolchain practices, including Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment Preferred Qualifications To stand out as a candidate, you will ideally have: A graduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training Kubernetes AKS and Azure cloud experience Aircraft Industry experience Experience with other DevOps Toolchain technologies, such as Selenium, Nexus Repository, Hygieia, SonarQube, Rally on Demand, Slack, GitHub, Jenkins, ElasticSearch, Logstash, Kibana, New Relic, Terraform, and GitHub Actions What You'll Get As a Senior Developer at American Airlines, you will have access to a comprehensive benefits package, including: Medical benefits, including health, dental, prescription, and vision coverage, as well as virtual doctor visits and flexible spending accounts Wellness programs, providing tools, resources, and support to help you be your best self A 401(k) program, with employer contributions available after one year, depending on the workgroup Additional benefits, including an Employee Assistance Program, pet insurance, and discounts on hotels, rental cars, travel, and more Company Culture At American Airlines, care and diversity are the foundation of our workforce.
