Our Finance team plays a critical role in ensuring that our business is operating efficiently, making data-driven decisions, and staying financially healthy. We’re looking for a Financial Data Analyst to help us unlock the full potential of our financial data by improving reporting, analytics, and automation. What This Person Will Do at Belong As a Financial Data Analyst, you will be responsible for pulling, analyzing, and structuring financial data from various sources to generate actionable insights. Over time, this role will evolve from report generation to building automation and integrations between Belong ’s management system and accounting system. This role is ideal for someone who loves working with data, has a strong analytical mindset, and enjoys solving problems through data engineering and automation. You don’t just pull reports—you understand the story behind the numbers and can translate raw data into meaningful business insights. In this role, you will: Extract and consolidate financial data from sources like BigQuery, RDS, Excel, Google Sheets, and other internal systems. Build actionable reports and dashboards in Looker, Metabase, Google Sheets, and Excel. Develop and maintain SQL queries to efficiently retrieve financial data. Analyze financial metrics, including revenue categorization, cohort analysis, and gross profit calculations. Identify trends, anomalies, and insights to support strategic decision-making. Automate data retrieval processes and reporting workflows over time. Build and improve integrations between Belong ’s management and accounting systems. Partner with Finance & Accounting to enhance financial reporting and reconciliation processes. Provide ad hoc financial analysis and data support for forecasting and planning. Requirements 3-6 years of experience in financial data analysis, financial engineering, or a similar role. Proficiency in SQL – experience writing and optimizing queries for data extraction. Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills, including financial modeling, pivot tables, and automation. Experience with Python (or another programming language) for data analysis and automation. Ability to create reports and dashboards in Looker, Metabase, or other BI tools. Comfort working with large datasets from sources like BigQuery, RDS, and relational databases. Familiarity with AI-driven data automation and analytics—using machine learning or AI models to improve financial forecasting, automate data extraction, or assist in reporting. Nice to Have (But Not Required): Experience automating financial workflows and data pipelines. Knowledge of accounting systems and ERP platforms. Some familiarity with C#/.NET Prior experience in high-growth or startup environments where automation was a focus. Experience integrating AI/ML tools into financial workflows (e.g., automating insights, anomaly detection, NLP-driven financial analysis). Exposure to ChatGPT, OpenAI’s Operator, or similar AI tools for financial reporting, automation, and decision support. Why Join Belong ?
