Fractional CFO / Part-Time Finance Consultant for Small Business

Description: We’re a window treatment company based in NYC and NJ, growing quickly and ready to bring on a fractional CFO / part-time finance consultant to help us plan our next stage of growth. We need clarity around budgeting for things like: • New software tools (QuickBooks Online + MyBlindCo/CRM) • Hiring extra team members (sales, bookkeeping, admin) • Possibly leasing an office or showroom We’re not just looking for someone to “do the books” — we already have a bookkeeper and an accountant. What we really need is someone who can connect the dots and give us clear insights so we know what’s safe to spend, what to hold back on, and how to keep cash flow healthy. What you’ll do: • Help us plan ahead with clear monthly and quarterly cash flow forecasts • Run “what-if” scenarios (like: what happens if we hire, take on office rent, or add software costs) • Give us budget and profitability targets — and break them down into simple, actionable steps • Turn our numbers into easy-to-read reports and dashboards we can actually use to make decisions • Work closely with our accountant (taxes) and bookkeeper (day-to-day) so everything stays connected What we’re looking for: • Experience as a fractional CFO / finance consultant / FP&A specialist • Strong with QuickBooks Online and Excel/Google Sheets • Ideally some background with service-based or home improvement companies • Someone who explains financials clearly and simply (no jargon, please!) • Organized, proactive, and easy to work with Details: • Part-time / ongoing • Flexible hours (about 5–15 per month to start) • Rate: $50–$120/hr (open to monthly retainer proposals too) If you love helping small business owners get financial clarity and make smart growth decisions, we’d love to hear from you.
