Head of Data Science & Analytics

Location: Barcelona Office, hybrid About the Role: We are seeking a Head of Data Science & Analytics to lead and elevate our data function at Heetch . This role blends technical expertise with strategic influence , ensuring that data is at the heart of every product and business decision. You will oversee a high-performing team of data scientists and product analysts , focusing on maximising impact, driving experimentation, and fostering continuous growth . You will empower and up skill existing talent, helping them expand their capabilities and ownership. What You’ll Do: Leadership & Team Development - Mentor, coach, and developdata scientists and analysts to reach their full potential - Creategrowth opportunitieswithin the team, ensuring they take on new challenges and expand their expertise - Foster aculture of analytical excellence, curiosity, and ownership Data Strategy & Execution - Define and drive thedata science & analytics roadmap, aligning with business and product priorities - Balancepredictive modelling, experimentation, and deep analyticsto unlock strategic opportunities - Ensure best practices indata governance, quality, and scalability Experimentation & Decision Science - ScaleA/B testing and causal inference frameworksto support data-driven product iteration - Develop methodologies to measure impact and optimise key metrics - Partner withPMs, engineers, and leadershipto ensure data is a central part of decision-making Product & Business Impact - Leveragedata storytelling and advanced analyticsto influence strategic decisions - Bridgedata science and product analytics, ensuring teams have the right tools and insights to move fast - Advocate for adata-driven culture, helping teams translate insights into action Challenges You’ll Face: - Balancing technical depth with strategic priorities - Building and maintaining alignment across diverse stakeholders - Navigating the competitive landscape of the mobility industry - We’re currently undergoing a big transformation on the tech side, so you’ll need to be able to balance priorities while ensuring excellent communication within your team and with stakeholders About You: - 10+ years of experience in Data Science, Analytics or a related field, with 3+ years of leadership experience - Proven ability to recruit , develop and mentor high-performing teams - Deep expertise in Python, SQL, and statistical modelling , with experience in production-grade data science - Strong background in experimentation, A/B testing, and causal inference - Ability to translate complex data insights into business actions ✨ Bonus Points - Experience in mobility, marketplace, or consumer tech industries - Familiarity with ML in production and real-time analytics - Hands-on experience with modern data platforms (BigQuery, Dataform, Vertex, Amplitude, etc.) What We Value: Transparency: Foster open communication and a culture of honesty.
