We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Data Engineer to drive the design, implementation, and management of advanced data solutions. In this role, you will lead a team of engineers, ensure adherence to data governance and quality standards, and collaborate with stakeholders to align technical initiatives with business objectives. You will provide mentorship, establish best practices, and oversee complex data projects from planning to execution. Accountabilities Team Leadership & Mentorship – Lead a team of engineers, QA specialists, and business analysts, providing guidance through design reviews, code reviews, and knowledge-sharing initiatives. Technical Design & Architecture – Oversee the technical architecture and engineering practices for new implementations, ongoing operations, and day-to-day support. Data Governance & Quality – Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and quality standards; create team-specific standards where necessary. Stakeholder Collaboration – Work closely with product owners, managers, and stakeholders to align data initiatives with product roadmaps and organizational goals. Project Management – Manage timelines, milestones, and deliverables for data projects, identifying risks and proposing mitigation strategies. Data Literacy Promotion – Foster a collaborative culture by encouraging data literacy and self-service analytics across the organization. Requirements Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field. 7+ years of experience in data engineering or data architecture roles. Strong proficiency in SQL (MSSQL or Snowflake preferred) and ETL platforms such as SSIS, Azure Data Factory, or Informatica. Demonstrated experience leading technical teams and managing complex data projects. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Experience in Agile methodologies and DevOps practices is a plus. Insurance industry experience is preferred but not required. Benefits Competitive base salary: $130,000 – $175,000/year, incentive eligible. Comprehensive health coverage including medical, dental, vision, and prescription drug plans.
