[Remote] Sales Engineer, Estimator

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Otis Elevator Co. is a global leader in elevator and escalator manufacturing, installation, and service. They are seeking a Sales Engineer/Estimator to deliver accurate cost estimates for Skyrise elevator systems, collaborate with sales teams, manage change orders, and drive process improvements. Responsibilities • Prepare Cost Estimates: • Review takeoff forms submitted by Sales Representatives and NSMs • Gather additional information as needed and enter estimates for standard and complex Skyrise elevators in Elogistics • Identify required deviations, request engineering analysis, and run necessary reports • Deliver final cost estimates and supporting documentation to Sales Representatives and NSMs • Manage Change Orders: • Process change requests from Project Managers or customers under guidance of senior team members • Enter requests in Elogistics, coordinate engineering/drafting approvals, and finalize change orders • Request and process discounts as needed • Collaborate on Awarded Projects: • Participate in Pre-Award Reviews (PAR) and Basis of Award (BOA) meetings to ensure alignment with customer requirements • Update Elogistics and provide revised reports as necessary • Support Deviation Management: • Develop a basic understanding of deviation processes, utilize SDL and calculation tools, and respond to basic deviation requests • Drive Process Improvement: • Assist in creating and updating standard processes and participate in continuous improvement initiatives • Support Sales Engineers in evaluating feasibility of deviation requests Skills • Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology or Accounting • 3+ years of experience in accounting, finance, and/or engineering, ideally with a mix of disciplines • Proficient in computer programs used in educational and work settings, including Microsoft Office and Outlook • Ability to learn and understand estimating processes and workflow quickly • Skilled in running Elogistics reports • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with Sales Reps and NSMs • Proficient knowledge of Skyrise elevator equipment to advise Florence PMs and local office Sales Reps • Ability to mentor and train new hires on standard estimating processes • Knowledge and experience in technical engineering, mechanical, and/or electrical fields • Elevator experience is preferred • Elevator experience is preferred Benefits • We offer a 401(k) plan with a generous company match and an automatic retirement contribution for your future financial security from day one of your employment, you and your eligible dependents will receive comprehensive medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage. • Enjoy three weeks of paid vacation, along with paid company holidays • We provide paid sick leave, employee assistance, and wellness incentive programs to support your well-being. • Life insurance and disability coverage to protect you and your family. • Voluntary benefits, including options for legal, pet, home, and auto insurance. • We offer generous birth/adoption and parental leave benefits, as well as adoption assistance, to support growing families. • Pursue your educational goals with our tuition reimbursement program. • Recognize and be recognized!
