Senior Materials Developer, Jordan

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR We are looking for a Sr Developer who pairs advanced materials knowledge in textiles, prints and trims with an aesthetic sensibility that elevates form, function and finish. The candidate will use their material development expertise, strategic thinking, business acumen, and collaborative skills to deliver creative and innovative material solutions specific to Jordan Brand Apparel seasonal initiatives. Strong technical knowledge in both textiles and trim development as well as ability to work in fast paced quick decision-making environment, will ensure success in this role. WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON You will explore ideas in trims, textiles, and print/pattern from trend through technological advancements using seasonal briefs as guide. You will drive seasonal material development in partnership with Jordan apparel team including international manufacturing teams from concept to commercialization. This includes pre-season collaboration, ideating with design, risk assessments, calendar building, material development execution, and ownership of the buy ready process. WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH You will report into the Global Apparel Materials Team (GLAM) and support our partners within Jordan Brand Apparel including key collaborations with Innovation, Design, Product Management, Technical Development, Sourcing and Manufacturing. You will need to work effectively within the materials team to ensure a strategic approach to developing new materials and maintain an understanding of how materials perform when in garment form. WHAT YOU BRING • Bachelor's degree in Textile Development or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience and training • 5+ years of experience in apparel industry or 8 years industry experience • Passion for collaboration and contributing to a positive, high-performing team environment • Understanding of the apparel design and development process from inception through final adoption • Strong technical material knowledge, including wovens, knits, trims, and print techniques • Understanding of textile manufacturing processes and testing • Strong verbal and written communications skills • Experience managing multiple projects with competing resources and deadlines across multiple seasons • Strong information seeking-skills and a drive to make things happen • Ability to work independently and cooperatively in a diverse group • Ability to network and utilize internal and external resources • Computer skills, including Microsoft office applications and Product Data Management • Ability to travel up to approximately 15% of the time We will ensure that individuals with disabilities are provided reasonable accommodation to participate in the job application or interview process, to perform essential job functions, and to receive other benefits and privileges of employment.
