The Threat Detection team, part of the Product-Engineering Detection Platform, focuses on advanced detection engines. Our team is dedicated to innovation, excellence and developing scalable, real-time solutions using Apache Flink. We are looking for a passionate and driven Data Engineering Intern to join our dynamic team and contribute to our mission of delivering data driven products. As a Data Engineering Intern, you will work closely with our experienced data engineers to enhance our advanced detection engines, such as Tactic Graphs™. You will gain hands-on experience with our streaming big data platform using Apache Flink, Kafka & Kubernetes, contributing to the design, development, and optimization of our streaming data processing pipelines. Participate in code reviews and adhere to best practices in software development. Engage in the full software development lifecycle, from concept to deployment and support. Work with large, complex data sets to solve challenging problems. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data engineering solutions with other parts of the business. ** Qualifications (we expect to see): 1 Year of software engineering education/STEM/bootcamp experience. Software engineering experience in Java. Version control experience such as Git. A desire to learn and dive into new programming languages and technologies. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work in a collaborative agile team environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Eagerness to learn and take on new challenges in a fast-paced environment. ** Preferred Qualifications (what we like to see (but not required)): Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field. Experience working with docker or kubernetes Experience developing and deploying production systems with cloud platforms like AWS or GCP Remote work experience with a geographically distributed team (we have teammates in EST to EET time zones) ** Work Environment We are a remote first team and are geographically distributed across the UK, Spain, and Romania – we utilize tools like Slack, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams to facilitate communication and tools like Miro and Lucid Charts for diagramming and communicating ideas.
