Software Engineer Internship

Wellmark Blue Cross and Blue Shield is offering an internship opportunity within their Technology Division, focusing on application development. Interns will gain hands-on experience in the health insurance industry by assisting with application management, troubleshooting, and developing business knowledge necessary for effective support. Responsibilities Assist with the management and troubleshooting of multiple applications in support of Wellmark's systems In collaboration with application operations, assist and work with Technology and business stakeholders to troubleshoot and provide production support to research and find root cause for systems errors Develop business knowledge of the application necessary to effectively provide support maintenance Skills Current junior, senior or master's student pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, MIS, or related field Experience or knowledge of software development technologies (Angular, NodeJS, TypeScript, C++, .NET, Java, or SQL) Strong analytical problem-solving skills. Accuracy and high attention to detail and self-starter Ability to troubleshoot and develop creative technical solutions Demonstrated computer skills with Microsoft Office products (Word, Access, PowerPoint and Excel) Ability to gather information, perform necessary research needed for root cause analysis, problem definition and formulation, recommend solution using data to support recommendations Excellent writing and communication skills to communicate with all levels of the organization Ability to thrive in fast-paced environment with changing priorities. Excellent organizational skills.
