Structural Engineer – Foundations, Solar Industry

Job Description: • Lead structural engineering efforts for multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and efficient delivery to customers. • Design tracker foundations using software such as L-Pile. • Review geotechnical reports to determine soil-structure design parameters for foundation design. • Review geotechnical reports and communicate to the customer any challenges or recommendations for foundation design. • Coordinate and manage project construction drawings deliverables with EOR. • Attend project meetings with Sales and customers to answer questions and provide updates. • Provide construction administration support for ongoing projects, including RFIs and submittals. • Collaborate with other project engineers at Nevados in the project design process. • Ensure effective communication and collaboration with internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or structural engineering. • Minimum 5 years designing foundations, preferably driven steel piles. • Strong knowledge of ASCE 7 and AISC. • Experience in structural analysis and design, including dead, live, snow, wind, and seismic loads, design of steel structures, and development of construction documents. • Ability to understand geotechnical principles (soil layers, L-Pile parameters, frost heave). • Proficiency in AutoCAD and L-Pile. • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. • Excellent project management skills, including task prioritization, and resource management. • Geotechnical engineering experience is a plus. • Professional Engineering (PE) license in any State.
