Tableau Administrator - Long Term Contract - Bay Area, CA We are hiring a Senior Tableau Administrator/Engineer for our client based in the Bay Area. This will be a Hybrid role but the client is based in the bay area and would like engineers to be based in the bay area - you would be working onsite for 1-2 days every week. You will be developing, maintaining, and supporting: • Tableau server user accounts, permissions, and assignments. • Establish standards for publishing Tableau dashboards to production servers • Collect and monitor the metrics necessary to quantify Tableau system performance and forecast future capacity needs. • Configuring data sources (Snowflake) for high-performance access in Tableau. Responsibilities: • Administration of the Tableau software for a web-scale, data-driven organization. • Establish and govern best practices for Tableau artifact production deployment. • Monitor Tableau health and execution performance. • Ideate and Collaborate on Solutions- be a thought leader within the Tech organization to build new and improved data tools and services that can scale with the company. • Invest in the Process - execute and continuously improve our development process. • Work with stakeholders and IT teams to provide solutions and act as an SME in Tableau. Requirements • 10+ years in Data Engineering and/or Engineering. • Experience with imp[roving current tableau installations and version upgrades. • Solid communication skills with internal and external data platform customers. • Experience in Tableau software, including configuration and optimization. • Ability and history of configuring Tableau environments for high availability • Experience working in an environment with a bias towards action. • Experience in schema design for decision support, particularly dimensional data modeling. • Strong skills in SQL (query plan optimization, windowing functions, aggregate design for example). • Expertise in Snowflake, Redshift or BigQuery is a major plus • A Bachelor's Degree in CS, Information Systems, a related field, or equivalent work experience. • Ability to provide Best Practices to the stakeholders and customers. The interview process will include 1-2 rounds of technical interviews. Job Type: Contract Pay rate - $55-85/hr.
