A rewarding opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse with Telemetry experience to support patient care in a fast-paced cardiac unit. This contract position is based in Lawrence, KS, providing specialized nursing care in a dynamic hospital environment. Key Responsibilities: • Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients in the telemetry cardiac unit. • Monitor cardiac patients using telemetry equipment, focusing on patient safety and accurate data collection. • Administer and manage cardiac drips including Heparin, Butamax, Lasix, and Cardizem. • Perform procedures involving TR Band management post-cardiac interventions. • Participate in Tikosyn and Sotalol initiation processes under hospital protocols. • Float between acute care units as needed to support patient care coverage. • Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes. • Utilize the EPIC electronic medical record system for documentation and communication. Qualifications and Experience: • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kansas. • Minimum of 1 year recent telemetry nursing experience; 2-5 years preferred. • Proficiency with cardiac medication administration and telemetry equipment. • Certifications required: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS). • Strong clinical judgment and excellent communication skills. Schedule and Assignment Details: • Night shifts: 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, 3 twelve-hour shifts per week. • Weekend rotation every other weekend. • Total hours: 36 per week. • 13-week contract assignment with a structured orientation including hands-on and virtual training sessions.
