Underwriter I - Analyst Development Program (Maritime Finance)

The Underwriter I position is part of an Analyst Development Program that focuses on credit underwriting and portfolio management for maritime loans, requiring collaboration and financial analysis skills. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive company and industry research Analyze financial statements and detailed operational and financial information to build forecast models of potential and existing borrowers Assist in the underwriting of credits, including authoring and coordinating credit committee documents; attending and contributing to credit committee meetings Help manage internal deal processes which include performing business, financial and legal diligence, and educating internal risk and control groups Construct LTV and scrap value analyses to evaluate deal structures Develop understanding and maintain awareness of trends and conditions in the various sub-sectors of the broader maritime market Manage accounts post-close and maintain credit files in preparation for internal or external audits Skills Bachelor's Degree and 0 years of experience OR High School Diploma and 4 years experience in commercial lending or credit Analysis, financial statement analysis, and finance fundamentals Major or concentration in finance or accounting Strong financial analyst skills and writing ability Previous financial internship experience in an analytical role within a financial services institution GPA of 3.3 or higher Maritime sector experience a plus Benefits Benefits are an integral part of total rewards and First Citizens Bank is committed to providing a competitive, thoughtfully designed and quality benefits program to meet the needs of our associates.
