About the position The Vice President, Chief Information Security Officer at Cleveland Clinic oversees the organization's cybersecurity program, driving strategy and integrating innovative solutions to protect its digital footprint. This executive role requires a balance of strategic vision, operational execution, and emotional intelligence, with significant visibility and influence within the organization. The position involves collaboration with senior executives and representation in industry discussions, aiming to set new standards in healthcare cybersecurity. Responsibilities • Execute a visionary cybersecurity strategy that aligns with Cleveland Clinic's enterprise goals and care priorities. • Lead with an understanding of industry benchmarks and emerging threats to set industry standards. • Ensure the cybersecurity program remains a high-functioning asset with proven results. • Address evolving third-party risks, AI-driven vulnerabilities, and emerging attack vectors with agility and precision. • Leverage existing systems to continuously optimize performance and resilience. • Foster trust through strong partnerships with clinical and operational teams to develop and implement best practices in cybersecurity. • Work closely with senior executives, including the CEO and Board of Directors, ensuring alignment and effective communication. • Represent Cleveland Clinic in industry and governmental discussions to shape the future of healthcare cybersecurity. • Cultivate a culture of collaboration and shared purpose within a digitally advanced, cross-functional team. • Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities for team members. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field. • Security certification (e.g., CISSP, CHS) and ITIL Foundations certification required within six months of position start date. • 10 years of experience with information technology, with at least five years in a leadership role. • Extensive experience in healthcare information security, with a proven track record of leading large-scale technology projects and managing teams. Nice-to-haves • MBA or master's degree in technology or business field. • Proven expertise in cybersecurity leadership within large, complex organizations, ideally within healthcare or similarly regulated industries. • Demonstrated ability to design and implement robust cybersecurity programs that deliver measurable results. • Strong technical acumen, combined with exceptional strategic, operational and interpersonal skills.
