Job Description We are seeking highly motivated and detail-oriented individuals to join our team as a Remote Video Captioner & Subtitler. As a Captioner & Subtitler, you will play a crucial role in making Netflix content accessible and enjoyable for a global audience by creating accurate and well-timed captions and subtitles for a variety of video content. Key Responsibilities • Accurately transcribe audio content and synchronize it with video to create captions and subtitles. • Ensure grammatical correctness, proper punctuation, and adherence to specific style guides. • Translate or adapt dialogue into appropriate captions/subtitles, maintaining linguistic nuances and cultural context when required. • Review and edit existing captions/subtitles for quality, accuracy, and timing. • Manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively in a fast-paced environment. • Utilize specialized software and tools for captioning and subtitling (training provided). • Communicate proactively with project managers regarding progress and potential issues. Required Skills • Excellent command of the English language, both written and spoken. • Exceptional listening skills and attention to detail. • Strong understanding of grammar, punctuation, and syntax. • Proficiency in basic computer usage and comfortable learning new software. • Reliable internet connection and a quiet home workspace. • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. • High level of personal integrity and ability to handle confidential content. Preferred Qualifications • Prior experience in transcription, translation, or content writing is a plus, but not required. • Familiarity with various media formats and streaming platforms. • Knowledge of an additional language (e.g., Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa, French) is a strong advantage. • Degree in Linguistics, English, Communications, or a related field.
