POSITION TITLE: Workforce Training Coordinator STATUS: Exempt, FT GRADE: 3 DEPT: Economic Empowerment PROGRAM: Opportunity Works/Union Pacific... REPORTS TO: Director of Workforce SUPERVISES: N/A SALARY: $50K/yr SUMMARY: The Workforce Training Coordinator is responsible for coordinating multiple training external opportunities for participants in the Opportunity Works/Union Pacific program. Assisting and facilitating job readiness workshops to all Workforce Innovation Institute eligible participants in person when needed. Track training attendance and enters detailed case comments into state data system(s), and assists in coordinating Employment Services events. COLLABORATES WITH: WII Manager, VP of WII, WII Specialists, and Business Engagement Specialists, YWCA staff members, State of Illinois American Job Center Affiliates ESSENTIAL Responsibilities • Coordinate pre-employment skills training programs for participants with a focus railroad, mechanics, welding, etc. • Complete skills training screenings with participants using required training tools provided by the training provider and documenting detailed case comments timely. • Develop and utilize tools to measure participant progress and monitor the effectiveness of training sessions. • Maintain accurate training enrollment data, including attendance, evaluations and other reporting data elements; prepare documents for scanning into Career Connect database. • Identify barriers to participation, refer participants back to Workforce Innovation Specialists and Business Engagement Specialists, maintain confidentiality of participant information, and comply with government and agency regulations and program standard operating procedures. • Maintain a working knowledge of community resources, industry trainings, stay current about the community partnerships and other agency information as referral processes. • Assist with Employment Services events, including but not limited to strategizing, developing, coordinating, creating flyers, and calling/registering participants. Non-essential Responsibilities • Participate in administrative and program meetings, as appropriate. • Responsible for promoting and educating individuals about all agency programs and assisting clients in navigating other programs offered within the YWCA. OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED: Other duties outside of the responsibilities of the position may be assigned but not limited to; special projects, tasks force or other assignments. Qualifications • Minimum two years’ work experience with adults in a learning environment, social services, or related field. • Able to work with confidential information and have a basic understanding of customer service practices. • Demonstrated organizational skills and strong attention to detail in data tracking and entry. • Knowledge and experience in current Microsoft Office Suite/Office 365, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. • Demonstrated organizational and time management skills with the ability to perform comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment, and ability to successfully execute multiple projects at one time. EDUCATION REQUIRED: A high school diploma or GED with 2 years’ experience in workforce or non-profit. Associate degree in human services or related field. CERTIFICATION(s) REQUIRED: NA WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment includes offices or virtual; members and visitors may visit with children. The noise level is usually moderate. Movement requirements include walking, stooping or kneeling. There may be a need to reach, lift or move objects, such as packages, supplies and computers. Normal (or corrected) vision range; ability to see color and to distinguish letters, numbers and symbols are necessary to the work, which may require close viewing. Communication needs include seeing, hearing and speaking. While in the office, there will be periods of sitting, holding a telephone and using computers. Reasonable accommodations may be made for an incumbent to meet the essential responsibilities of the position. WORK SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm.
