Part-Time Literacy Tutor (Remote) Are you a Spanish-speaking educator ready to make a difference in young readers' lives — all from the comfort of your home? At Hoot Reading, we’re on a mission to change children’s lives through literacy, and we’re building our network of talented bilingual educators for the 2025–2026 school year! Educators at Hoot Reading provide 1:1 online reading lessons using innovative technology and a Science of Reading curriculum — empowering teachers to focus on what they do best: teaching! We primarily support students during school hours through school-district partnerships across the U.S. Please note: This posting is an expression of interest for potential Spanish-speaking educator opportunities in Fall 2025. While we are not hiring for immediate roles, we encourage interested candidates to apply so we can reach out closer to the start of the school year if opportunities become available. Your Availability and Schedule: • Start Date: Mid-October 2025 — orientation and training will begin then, with programs launching in late October/early November. • Hours: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday, during standard school hours. This is a part-time role, and hours depend on student enrolment and scheduling needs. • Commitment: Up to 25 hours per week. Actual hours are not guaranteed and are based on teacher availability aligning with program demand. • Consistency: Students meet with their teacher three times per week at the same time of day. For this reason, we prioritize teachers who can provide consistent availability across multiple weekdays (Monday to Friday). What are we looking for? • Bachelor’s degree in education (or equivalent) is required. • 2+ years of K-6 teaching experience with a strong grasp of phonics, decoding and reading fundamentals. • Tech-savvy with a reliable laptop, internet, and quiet workspace. • Being bilingual in English and Spanish is required.
